Alnico Magnets
Alnico Magnets are suitable for use in extremely high temperature applications up to 500c. The material consists of an alloy of aluminium, nickel and cobalt (AlNiCo). The material possesses an extraordinary mechanical hardness. They are manufactured by undergoing a metallurgic pressing-sintering process or casting process. The raw materials used for Alnico magnets are mixed prior to being heated in preparation for the casting process. Apart from iron, the alloy used for Alnico 500-material for example contains 24% cobalt, 14% nickel, 8% aluminium, 3% copper and 0.45% niobium. After the dosage of each component, a liquifier is added. This material can be supplied in various dimesions and in BM260, BM450 and BM500 grades.
